Location
Prawle Point is the
southernmost tip in Devon. East
Prawle, the nearest village is about 1 mile up the
road. It has two great pubs, a village shop and small
café serving excellent homemade food for breakfast,
lunch and cream teas. The nearest town, Kingsbridge,
is about a 25 minute drive from the cottage. Salcombe
is a further 20 minute drive from Kingsbridge, but
is also easily accessible by passenger ferry from East
Portlemouth, which is just 10 minutes from the cottage
by car.
Or you could always walk to Salcombe; out the front gate, turn right and head
along the coastal path. This takes

takes about 2 hours
and passes beautiful secluded coves and stunning scenery along the way.
If you turn left at the garden gate you can head for the
lovely beach of Lannacombe Bay. This takes about 2 hours and when the tide is
out you can experience the wonderful rock pools along the way.
Short drives in other directions will bring you to more lovely villages with wonderful pubs and old churches, tidal creeks, beaches and Start Point lighthouse. |
